Creepy old abandoned mansion on Phoenix Way, Wednesday evening

Pinkie had spent all day -- barring her class, of course -- getting the mansion ready for the Halloween party. If anyone had any protests over her rather liberal use of black and orange balloons, streamers, party hats, table cloths, and confetti, she wasn't hearing them over the noise of her party cannon.

Kitty made a fantastic party helper, at least, helping rearrange what little furniture was already set up (so that's what hands were for!) and doing the many things that even the party cannon couldn't do (such as keep Pinkie from eating all the snacks before the party could even start).

Then, at last, it was time to get into costume. Pinkie had promised to show Kitty just what Nightmare Night was all about, and her Nightmare Moon costume delivered in spades, if she did say so herself. Sure, the glowing contact lenses were uncomfortable, and the black make-up was going to be rather difficult to get out of her coat later, but she was rocking those plastic fangs.

Allie had only had a very brief description of what Halloween was from Tiny. She didn't have a costume, but the all black clothing and long leather coat fit the vampire trope pretty well.

She found a corner where she watch the goings on.

"Hey," Kitty greeted her, because it felt important to be welcoming to people who might not know that many people at a party yet. "Happy Halloween."

"Hi," Allie nodded. "Thanks." One eyebrow raised as she took in Kitty's costume. "That's a different look."

Forgive her, she'd never seen a Halloween costume before.

"That's pretty much the point," Kitty said. "You dress up like something you're not for a day and everyone gives you a pass if you look silly. It's great."

It was. If you weren't someone who hadn't spent most of her life trying to survive with no time for silliness. But Allie reminded herself that she wasn't home any longer. "I think I'll pass on the silly. Maybe work on lurking impressively instead."

Yeah, all five feet of her.

If Kitty's costume had gotten a reaction, well, Mike was dressed as Marilyn (and rocking it, thank you), and coming over with a friendly smile on his face because it was the best way to approach people in corners.

He lived with Derek, he was starting to become an expert.

"Hi, I guess I should be a good host – or hostess – and ask if you need anything."

Fortunately Kitty had explained about the silly part of Halloween, which meant instead of questioning Mike's sanity, Allie actually smiled.

"I'm good. Thank you for asking." Look, the trashy novels at least were teaching Allie polite interactions.

"Nice dress."

"Thanks." Yeah, he totally did a little twirl so the dress flared out. It actually did move quite nicely. "I like your whole... leather thing, too."

The twirl earned Mike a laugh. "Nice. It's definitely a good look for you. But this," Allie said, patting her coat. "Is my every day wear. We don't have Halloween where I'm from so I didn't know about dressing up."

Mike raised his eyebrows. "No Halloween, seriously? That just sounds tragic – or maybe just foreign. But it's a cool coat all the same. Fits in well enough."

"It doesn't show stains." Kanin's words of wisdom when he gave it to her. It helps with the whole vamp thing I've got going on." Allie smiled again, this time showing fangs that hadn't been there a moment before.

Even though she'd heard about the talking pony, Pinkie Pie's appearance still resulted in Allie blinking in surprise for a moment or two.

"No, I don't know what a ninja is." Although if she had her sword with her, the ninja theme would have worked well.

"I'm trying for the imposing vampire look," she said, flashing a smile with just a hint of fangs. "Is it working?"

Look to Eric in one corner. Look at weetiny Allie. No Allie, probably not.

Clint grinned when he spotted Allie, and made his way over to her. "Hey, you're still here. Happy Halloween."

Jackal might be looking for her, but Allie didn't care about him. "No, but I'd been looking for someone else when I came across. And I'm worried I'm not going to get back to him in time."
