Creepy old abandoned mansion on Phoenix Way, Wednesday evening

Pinkie had spent all day -- barring her class, of course -- getting the mansion ready for the Halloween party. If anyone had any protests over her rather liberal use of black and orange balloons, streamers, party hats, table cloths, and confetti, she wasn't hearing them over the noise of her party cannon.

Kitty made a fantastic party helper, at least, helping rearrange what little furniture was already set up (so that's what hands were for!) and doing the many things that even the party cannon couldn't do (such as keep Pinkie from eating all the snacks before the party could even start).

Then, at last, it was time to get into costume. Pinkie had promised to show Kitty just what Nightmare Night was all about, and her Nightmare Moon costume delivered in spades, if she did say so herself. Sure, the glowing contact lenses were uncomfortable, and the black make-up was going to be rather difficult to get out of her coat later, but she was rocking those plastic fangs.

Well, he'd accepted werewolves as real, and talking ponies. So, he guessed he should probably accept this as well.

"Um, sorry, what am I even saying? Sorry, I'm still adjusting to that kind of thing being real."

"Hey, you're not drawing a gun on me or running away screaming," she shrugged. All reactions Allie had dealt with at one point or another.

"Questions are easy. It's working out fairly okay I guess. At least I'm not dead." A pause. "Well, permanently dead or rabid which is way worse then being a vampire."

"But you still do the, um, blood thing, though?" Mike asked, because he couldn't stop himself. "I mean I can see how that's better than being rabid, but still."

"Unfortunately yes." Something Allie couldn't help but regret. "The good thing is there's a bottled blood here on the island. So I don't have to worry about how I'm going to eat."

You know, Mike wasn't even going to ask why there was bottles blood on the island. He just wasn't. It seemed best that way.

"That sounds good," he hazarded. "Because other ways... would probably be bad, right?"

"Vampires don't need much to survive so in theory feeding isn't fatal. But most vampires don't care. I'm not most vampires. I won't let myself be."

Nope, she was an idealistic babyvamp that made Eric roll his eyes a lot.

He nodded a few times, like this was easy to take in and feal with. It wasn't, but he was excellent at faking things like that, just to be nice.

"Well, I for one am really glad to hear that," he said. "Kind of means I don't have any refreshments to offer, but you're probably fine anyway."

Nice was nice actually. It wasn't something she was used to.
