Pinkie was back in her office, once again trying to write a letter home about her adventures in Fandom. She'd finally given up on the whole "holding the pen in her mouth" concept, and was instead trying to use the computer.

This was somewhat difficult, as her hoof was about the size of half the keyboard. She tried hitting the keys at an angle, but it wasn't going too well.

She hadn't even gotten through the greeting when an ad popped up, directed to her through the magic of Google's extraordinarily sensitive ad focusing engines, which were capable of reading activity done even in an open draft of an email.

That was perfect! She'd totally be able to write her friends back in Ponyville if she had a ponyboard! She was going to have to requisition one from the school board right away!

"Cheese and pancakes!" Pinkie cried as Petra said three, because . . . why not? "Aw, I bet those pictures will be fantabulous!"

"I'm sure they will be," Petra assured her. "Thank you so much." She texted them to her 'Teen Dreamers' group, then shoved her phone back in her pocket. "I really appreciate it, especially when you're working on...um...what are you working on?" Besides not possibly being real?

"I'm trying to write a letter to the school board to ask them to get me one of these 'pony boards'. But the little letters are too teeny weenie!"

If the pony was somehow real, Petra had an opportunity to do a good deed. If the pony was, as according to all logic and sense it must be, a figment of Petra's imagination, the school board would get a crazy letter and it wouldn't matter because Petra would be out of here soon anyway. Her course seemed clear. "Well, I'm here and I don't have anything better to do," Petra pointed out. "You could tell me what you want to say and I could type it for you?"

"You'd do that?" Pinkie was impressed. "And your little wiggly bits would fit the teeny weenie letters perfectly!"

Fingers, Pinkie. They're called fingers.

"Sure!" Petra said. "Like I said, I don't have anything better to do." Well, her trig assignment, but that was hardly better. "And, uh. They're called fingers. The wiggly bits, I mean."

"Fingers!" Pinkie repeated. "That's a silly word. Fffffiiiiingersssss. I guess the computer thing was made for fingery thingies, huh?"

"Yeah, but they have voice recognition things, I think, for if you can't use the keyboard," Petra said. "Or a...ponyboard." Whatever the hell that was.

"It sent me a message to tell me about it!" Because the ad was totally talking to Pinkie specifically. "It's a really really really big keyboard so my hooves don't smoosh all the letters!"

"That makes sense," Petra said. So it was a keyboard for ponies. A ponyboard. Because ponies used keyboards now. "So you want to ask the school board for one?"

"Uh huh! But when I try to spell it out, all I get is a bunch of goobly gicky gibberish. If they're going to have a pony on staff, they should really be ready to accomodate her needs!"

"They totally should," Petra agreed. "That's just inconsiderate."

[locointhecoco]

"That's what I said!" Pinkie was on a roll. "How am I supposed to write to all my friends back home? I'm not a unicorn, so it's hard for me to use a pen, and I don't have a baby dragon around to take dictation."

[wasthecuteone]

"My roommate has three dragons," Petra said. "I don't know if they're babies or just...teacup dragons," though she was really hoping for the latter, "but I don't think they can take dictation."

"Wow, I've never seen a dragon shaped like a teacup before!"

[wasthecuteone]

Petra didn't understand how her brain came up with half of this. "No, they're just--they're little lizards with wings. They're not shaped like teacups."

Pinkie was getting confused. "Do they live in teacups?"

[wasthecuteone]

"No? They're just small. Like pur--Chihuahua-sized." 'Pursedog' was probably asking for trouble, huh?

It really would. Not that Pinkie knew what a chihuahua was. Dogs in her world mostly lived underground and kidnapped unicorns to make them lead them to gem stones.

"Oh, okay. She should make sure to feed them lots of gemstones."

Because gemstones were food now. Sure, why not? It was a hallucination. "I'll be sure to pass that along to her," Petra said soberly. "So, this letter to the school board? Can I see your computer?"

Only for dragons. Different animals all had different diets, and you had to follow them or they'd get sick! Fluttershy had taught Pinkie that.

"Even better! You can even use it!" Pinkie lead the way back around the desk to the computer monitor. "It's really pretty! Look, it has bubbles all over it, and everything!"

Pinkie hadn't set up her background as a pink bubble-scape. It'd actually come that way. She kind of thought of it as the computer's own cutie mark.

IT had clearly known what they were dealing with. "Okay, so...'Dear school board'?"

[locointhecoco]

"Uh huh! 'Dear school board. . . .'" Pinkie frowned, concentrating. "Letter writing is hard. If Twilight Sparkle were here, she'd know just what to say. 'Dear school board. . . . Hi! How are you all doing today? I hope you're having an extra fantastic amazingly awesomeliest of awesomes day!'"

That was a good start, right?

Maybe a little over the top, but, "Okay, good," Petra said as she typed. "You want to butter them up. 'Awesomeliest...of awesome...day.' Then what?"

Good question.

"Then. . . . 'I would be having a wonderfully wonderful wubtabulous day myself, but my hooves don't fit on the itty bitty letter thingies on the computer.'"
