• is back to teaching about friendship, this time having strong armed guilted convinced justlurkinghere to team teach with her!

• is from the magical land of Equestria which sometimes has somewhat analogous technology to modern day Earth when the plot calls for it
• never leaves home without her party cannon
• grew up on a rock farm (which finally got referenced again!)
• has a pet toothless alligator named "Gummy"
• routinely defies all logic and basic physics
• and bursts into song
• can reliably predict the future based on her bodily ticks and twitches
• Is never ever ever going away, because Pinkie Pie. Though if I run out of teaching ideas, may end up opening a party planning business in town.

Have you seen the My Little Pony comic books? In issue 1 there were 2 ponies dressed as the Blues Brothers in the background. In issue 2, they made massive Lord of the Rings references. They even had a cave troll.

I buy them for my daughter but end up reading them myself.

I haven't! I am well out of the comic loop. But I adore what they do with background ponies in the series, so I am unsurprised that it carries over into the comics.
