Creepy old abandoned mansion on Phoenix Way, Wednesday evening

Pinkie had spent all day -- barring her class, of course -- getting the mansion ready for the Halloween party. If anyone had any protests over her rather liberal use of black and orange balloons, streamers, party hats, table cloths, and confetti, she wasn't hearing them over the noise of her party cannon.

Kitty made a fantastic party helper, at least, helping rearrange what little furniture was already set up (so that's what hands were for!) and doing the many things that even the party cannon couldn't do (such as keep Pinkie from eating all the snacks before the party could even start).

Then, at last, it was time to get into costume. Pinkie had promised to show Kitty just what Nightmare Night was all about, and her Nightmare Moon costume delivered in spades, if she did say so herself. Sure, the glowing contact lenses were uncomfortable, and the black make-up was going to be rather difficult to get out of her coat later, but she was rocking those plastic fangs.

Victor smiled. "Olive's fault," he said. "It would've been black shirt, black pants, mask, sword, but she kind of challenged me to step up my game. You look, um, ... very home on the range-y."

Except sexy.

"That's what I was going for," Kitty said. Well, it was sort of what she was going for. "So she saved you from taking the boy way out of costumes?"

"She did," Victor confirmed. "She already pointed out that as far as guys dressing up goes, it's pretty much me and Marilyn Monroe. I'm all impressed with myself now."

He said it lightly -- it was clear he didn't find it that impressive.

"It'd maybe be a little awkward," Victor acknowledged, though he was still going to wonder. "This is a nice party. Whose house is it, anyhow?"
