Pinkie had spent all day -- barring her class, of course -- getting the mansion ready for the Halloween party. If anyone had any protests over her rather liberal use of black and orange balloons, streamers, party hats, table cloths, and confetti, she wasn't hearing them over the noise of her party cannon.

Kitty made a fantastic party helper, at least, helping rearrange what little furniture was already set up (so that's what hands were for!) and doing the many things that even the party cannon couldn't do (such as keep Pinkie from eating all the snacks before the party could even start).

Then, at last, it was time to get into costume. Pinkie had promised to show Kitty just what Nightmare Night was all about, and her Nightmare Moon costume delivered in spades, if she did say so herself. Sure, the glowing contact lenses were uncomfortable, and the black make-up was going to be rather difficult to get out of her coat later, but she was rocking those plastic fangs.

"Thanks. And here I didn't think anyone would be looking at those," Kitty said honestly.

"I'm a shoe person," Laurie told her with a nod. "But like, you look super-awesome. Fringe is hot this year."

"Oh, great. I'm trendy without even meaning to be," she said brightly. "So how have you been?"

Best to make sure they didn't terrify the new people too fast.

"Awesome," Laurie told her happily. "Except for when there were a million little kids. Then I was still awesome, but more headachey."

"Did you end up babysitting?" Kitty guessed.

"Answering endless questions," Laurie said, shaking her head. "Almost as bad."

"Ahhh. I got to miss most of it, outside of yelly baristas and people I know being cute at me," she said.

Shh Clint you were adorable.

"Oh, really?" Laurie asked, raising a brow. "You knew some of those kids?"

Someone still didn't exactly understand what had happened.

"My boyfriend and one of my friends," she said.

That shouldn't be confusing, right?

Laurie stared at her for a long moment, then added, "Is this like one of those child bride situations, except he's a child groom?"

First of all, a little ahead of her there. She stared for a moment, and then realized it. "Oh! No! He turned into a kid for the weekend. He's an adult again now, promise."

"He turned into a kid?" Laurie stared at her. "Like...okay, were those all like, people turned back into kids? What the hell?"

"It happens sometimes," Kitty said, nice and vague like it was no big deal. "Things like that happen, they change back after the weekend... It's like a bonding experience, really."

"Bonding experience," Laurie repeated, still staring. "That is...how?"

"Well, you all go through it together so you can't really get teased bad for it," she reasoned.

"But I mean like, how did this happen?" Laurie asked.

For what it was worth, "magic" was probably a totally acceptable answer here.

Kitty shrugged. "Fandom."

So, same thing, really.

Laurie paused to consider that. "Is it just gonna be easier if I go with this and don't think too hard?"

"Yes. Most things here are like that, really," she said.

"Okay," Laurie decided after a moment. "I'll just go with it."

And for Laurie, it really was that simple.

"And now I need your help, Tiny Kitty," she added. Whatever, they were like the same height, she was still tiny to Laurie. "I need to know who I can and should hit on."

...Tiny Kitty?

"I'm not really up on all the gossip," she warned. "If I say someone's single it's because I just haven't heard it on radio. That said, that guy in the uniform-" Hi, Clint. "-is off limits."

Getting that out of the way.

"The sexy one?" Laurie checked. "Is he yours? Good job!"

"Thank you," Kitty grinned. "I think Mike and Eric are free. As far as I know, anyway."

"Mike is Marilyn, right?" Laurie checked. "And which one's Eric? That's not Broodyface, right?"

"Blond Broodyface," Kitty supplied.
